A different kinda Sunday.

Sitting in my office this morning, about to walk into a gathering of people here in Hunt Valley and online.

Can I make a suggestion?

If you consider yourself someone of faith, and praying is something you do, I’d like to invite you to pray today for our national leaders in a specific way.

Say a prayer for them using their first name only.

Not to ignore their position or authority, but to remember their humanity.

People aren’t born partisan. They’re humans. Given names by parents who love them. A lot of stuff happens after those innocent beginnings, but they’re still people. Like you and me. With a name and a life that matters.

Our collective emotions run the gamut this weekend. Happy, sad, excited, worried.

I know. It’s hard. But let’s try.
